- Establishment
- Rule 3.1(g) of the Constitution of the Human Variome Project International Limited (the Company) provides that the Board of Directors will establish membership requirements for Consortium Members of the Human Variome Project (HVP).
- The Board of Directors of the Company has determined to establish membership rules for Consortium Members
- Membership
- Consortium Members means those entities, governments, organisations or persons who are admitted to membership of the HVP pursuant to the membership requirements but are not Affiliated Initiatives
- Membership Requirements
- To qualify as a Consortium Member of the HVP, members must be guided by the HVP core values of:
- Collaboration;
- Celebration;
- Respect;
- Inclusion;
- Service; and
- Professionalism
- Consortium Members are required to heed the standards and guidelines generated by the HVP and approved by the Company from time to time.
- Consortium Members should possess some level of expertise in clinical genetics, genetic counselling, genetic data collection and/or curation, information technology and administration of scientific projects.
- Consortium Members should act as an advocate for the HVP in academic circles.
- Where appropriate, Consortium Members should actively support submission to the HVP of their own genetic and clinical data and assist in creating the systems required for this collection.
- Where appropriate, Consortium Members should facilitate collection of variation data in their own country.
- Consortium Members who are not individuals must nominate an individual as their representative pursuant to guidelines approved by the Board of Directors of the Company.
- To qualify as a Consortium Member of the HVP, members must be guided by the HVP core values of:
- Membership Application
- Admission to membership as a Consortium Member is at the discretion of the Board of Directors of the Company.
- Application for admission as a Consortium Member is to be made pursuant to the application process approved by the Board.
- The Board is to notify all applicants when admitted as a Consortium Member.
- Cessation of Membership
- A member ceases to be a Consortium Member if:
- the member notifies the Company that they wish to withdraw their membership;
- the member (being a natural person) dies;
- the member ceases to exist or ceases operation; or
- the member (being a corporation or government) has a receiver or receiver and manager appointed or take any action having the effect of winding up the Consortium Member
- A member ceases to be a Consortium Member if:

Your consent to recieve these communications can be withdrawn at any time by contacting the International Coordinating Office or using the unsubscribe link in the emails. Your membership of the Human Variome Project Consortium can be withdrawn at any time of your choosing by clicking the Delete Me button in your online profile.
