One of the most valuable aspect of the Human Variome Project is the opportunity for all those working with or interested in genetic variation to participate in the Human Variome Project's Fora, Meetings and Conferences. These meetings foster the development of working relationships with colleagues in many different organisations and parts of the world. The Human Variome Project organises several meetings each year. Information on up coming meetings can be found on the Upcoming Meetings page. ForaThe Human Variome Project organises HVP Fora prior to several major established genetics meetings each year. The main aim of these meetings is to promote discussion and generate new approaches and collaborations. Speakers are asked to not to speak about their most recent completed work, but what work needs to be done, what they are trying to do, and what problems need to be solved. Country Specific Collection MeetingsFocussing on collecting all genetic variations in a single country, these meetings are run by Country Specific Nodes around the world. Working Group MeetingsHeld when required, HVP Working Group Meetings are an opportunity for all members of individual Working Groups to meet and exchange ideas. Biennial MeetingsThese Biennial meetings bring together all members of the Human Variome Project Community: Working Groups, Pilot Project Collaborators, and interested members of the public, to meet and "cross-pollinate". These well-attended and popular meetings allow the Human Variome Project to coordinate solutions to issues that cross Working Group borders. |
